Snow Day~Never Say Never!
We enjoyed some more snow in the south.
I believe I had just a few weeks earlier explained to the kids that they wouldn't have a day off from school if it snowed. "We don't have snow days here," I believe were my exact words. Never say never. Two days off and a delay due to snow and ice that fell. That will teach me!
Here are a few pictures of the boys playing in the soft snow before the sleet arrived and the girls exploring after the sleet coated everything in ice. Please take note of the girls' careful construction of snow girls, finding delicate snow leaf prints, etc. while the boys romp and run and throw.
They just have a different way of interacting with their world, that is all I am saying!

Doll Clothes and legos
Here are some recent lego creations. The girls will play if they get to "play house" with them.

Hannah found my old fabric and made a felt jumper yesterday for her doll and belted it with an AG headband. Today, she found old elastic, needle and thread and made this skirt with matching hat headband for Faith's doll.

A Photo a Day in 2011?
Not likely!
Still, I find the idea intriguing...
Our countdown chain until Brian returns. (Too lazy to change lenses to get the bottom of the chain.) We have less than a month remaining! Woohoo! (Purple and White for those KSU fans in the crowd. )
Also, our chore chart- finally implemented in December. I used Choreganizers chore cards and some from Managers of their Chores and ordered a pocket chart to put them in for our crew. I had been trying to perfect a system, not sure what it should really look like, if it would really work, etc. Finally, I just copied the system a dear and wise friend had in place. It has been really helpful to have assigned tasks for each child to complete each day. Now, I need to follow up and open up the chore store so they can spend their mom money they have been earning. (It is a challenge for me to remember to pay them at the end of each day and to check to make sure they have completed each chore. Even though it is work, it is saving me time each day so I need to make the time to follow up!)

Christmas Time
Family is awesome. That about sums it up! We love you guys!
Landon (i.e. super hermit crab) to replace the dearly departed Luke.
KSU played in the Pinstripe Bowl in NY this year. We had a little bowl party of our own to celebrate.
Showed the grandparents the local children's museum. The only way my children get to snowmobile or play hockey! They all really enjoyed the fairy tale touring exhibit too. See our handsome prince below?
