Beaches - a little more summer...

We headed out to Jacksonville this weekend to meet up with Daddy and hang out on the beach. The waves were pretty high and we didn't have much beach (Hurricane Bill effects?). Still the kids had a nice time playing at the water's edge and building sand castles, collecting shells, etc. Not growing up anywhere near the oceans, I could get used to beach living really quickly....

The moat the girls built was helpful and it actually worked.

Ready for School

The kids started school today. Today was just a half day but they were very excited and couldn't wait to get to the bus stop. This time it is a little further than just at our mailbox but still not too far. I tried to get a shot of them walking together to the bus stop but I was too late after helping Ben across the street. The kids were running so I missed my shot! Ahh well!

Made me smile

Much like my friend G, some days I grow weary in my role as mommy, wife, chef, laundry service, etc.

Ben brought me his sandals to help strap them on and as I worked the velcro strap he said, truly with admiration, "Wow, mom, you know how to do lots of stuff." He then leaned back for a quick snuggle before he ran outside to play.

Thanks for that bit of gratitude, Ben.... you made my day. Stop and say thanks or compliment someone today, they might really need the encouragement.

She sells sea shells by the sea shore

We enjoyed these moments at Myrtle Beach this weekend. We spent a lot of time collecting sea shells and we were able to bring quite a collection home. We were blessed to be able to enjoy the company of family on this trip- a rare treat. We love you guys!
